CareBrowser is launching

Tue Nov 03 2026

Choosing a care home for someone you love is one of the hardest decisions a family makes. It is harder still when the home is in another country, in a language you do not speak, with few ways to compare. That is why we are launching CareBrowser.

CareBrowser is a directory of care homes across the Mediterranean, and searching it is free. You can browse homes in Italy, France, Spain and Portugal, filter by the type of care and the languages the staff speak, save the ones you like, and print a shortlist to talk through with your family.

Care homes can claim their own listing and add what families most want to know: a description, prices, languages spoken, and whether there are places available right now. What you read in that section comes from the people who run the home. We approve each request by hand, so it can take a few days.

We have also written plain-language guides for the questions families ask most, such as what to check before you visit, how contracts and fees work, and how inspections and complaints are handled. They are available in English, Italian, French, German and Dutch.

New this week is a jobs section. Care homes can post vacancies, and people looking for care work can apply directly to the home, with no account needed.

This is a launch, not a finish line. We are improving the website all the time, with larger text options and a dark mode already available, and more features are on the way. We will share them here as they arrive.

If you run a care home, you can claim your listing from its page on the site. If you are a family member and something is missing or looks wrong, please tell us through the Contact page. Your feedback shapes what we build next.

Thank you for being here at the start.
